Description
A panoramic view of the full Mt Huayna Potosi (6088m / 19,975ft) massif shortly after sunrise, made of 8 vertical images stitched together. The peak is part of the Cordillera Real range and one of the most popular climbs in Bolivia; by mountaineering standards it is a relatively non technical 6000m peak. The right hand or north peak is the highest and most often climbed. Look closely and bottom centre (below left hand side of mountain) you can see the trail leading up the moraine and rock to the high camp (orange tents, with the refuge hut just below) at the top of the rocky ridge. From here the route runs right across the glacier and eventually ascends the peak from the right hand side. The small flat topped rocky peak to the left is Pico Milluni (5600m / 18,370ft).
