Description
The Johns Hopkins Monument outside the Johns Hopkins University campus in Baltimore. Hopkins (1795 – 1873) was an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist born in Maryland and lived in Baltimore for most of his life. His bequests founded numerous institutions that bear his name, most notably the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Johns Hopkins University.
