Description
Late afternoon clouds rise above the Parinacota volcano (6342m / 20,805ft) in the spectacular Lauca National Park in the far north of Chile. It is one of the Payachatas ("twin" in the Aymara language) volcanos which lie on the Bolivia border, and is said to be the highest symmetrical conical volcano in the world. The Park is also part of the Lauca Biosphere Reserve, recognised by UNESCO in 1981.
