Description
A Christmas tree that lights up made of metal cubes covered with woolen threads and local textiles at sunset in La Paz, Bolivia. The city is located at around 3600m / 12,600ft above sea level and traditional Christmas trees are hard to come by. The City Hall compensates by coming up with original and artistic ideas for modern Christmas trees to decorate the city's parks and squares, often working with local artists, school and civic groups. Bolivia, like other Andean countries, has a rich tradition in textile production dating back thousands of years.
