Description
In many countries in Latin America people build nativity scenes in their houses, a tradition that was introduced by the Spanish. Large markets appear in the weeks before Christmas selling a huge range of figures for the nativity scenes, as well as other decorations. Often the figures are dressed in typical clothing, such as this baby Jesus figure in a market in La Paz, Bolivia, wearing a poncho and a wooly hat called a chullu or chullo.
