Description
One of Peru's largest festivals is celebrated in the city of Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca each February in honour of the Virgen de la Candelaria. The celebrations last for nearly 2 weeks and many groups from villages in the region take part in the dance parades. This panpipe musician is part of an Ayarachis dance group from the village of Cuyocuyo in the far north of the Puno Region. The festival was added to the UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November 2014.
