Description
Part of the ruins of Bayham Abbey, on the border of Kent and East Sussex between Tunbridge Wells and Lamberhurst in southeast England. The abbey was founded in the early 13th century by Premonstratensian monks and suppressed by Cardinal Wolsey in 1525 to fund two new colleges he planned to build. Most of the abbey was built using the distinctive local yellow Wealden sandstone, much of the stonework was of an unusually high quality for the period.

A really super image of a once amazing building. Voted for in the contest RUINED CHURCHES IN THE UK in the group Best of British.
