Black rocks contrast nicely with the white sand of Playa Blanca beach in the Llanos de Challe National Park in the Region III de Atacama in Chile. The Park lies on the Pacific coast in the southern part of the Atacama Desert and is best known as being a good area to see the Flowering Desert phenomenon (known locally as El Desierto Florido) when it happens, which is roughly twice a decade.
