Description
An early morning view of cable cars on the Yellow Line / Linea Amarilla above some minor peaks of the Andes Mountains, fresh overnight snow lies on the foothills. The Yellow Line opened in 2014 and was the second of several cable car lines to be built in the cities of La Paz and El Alto in Bolivia (part of the suburbs of La Paz can be seen at the bottom of the image). The network currently consists of 10 lines and is 30.6km / 19 miles long, the largest urban Cable-Propelled Transit (CPT) system in the world. It is also the highest - central La Paz is at an altitude of around 3650m / 11,970ft, El Alto 4,050m / 13,280ft.
