Description
This small shrine sits on a rocky headland on the shore of the Beagle Channel in Tierra del Fuego National Park near Ushuaia in the far south of Argentina. The Beagle Channel lies to the south of the main Big Island / Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, which is divided between Argentina and Chile. It is named after the ship HMS Beagle, whose first voyage surveying the coasts of the southern part of South America lasted from 1826 to 1830. This part of the Park is very close to the border.
