Detail of a panel of rock paintings in the Qillqantiji Cave at Penas, Bolivia showing llamas / camelids in corrals / enclosures. There are 3 panels of rocks paintings at the site and 74 camelid figures have been counted. Penas is a small village about 50km from La Paz in the Bolivian altiplano; camelids have been a vital part of the rural economy of the region for thousands of years.
