Description
The granite towers of Patagonia can be awe inspiring. It had been grey and wet for the day hike in to Laguna Torre, and heavy rain on the tent kept me awake for most of the night. It eased towards dawn and the resulting sunrise with Cerro Torre (3102m / 10,175ft) perfectly reflected in Laguna Torre made getting out of the tent in damp clothes more than worth it! Within a couple of hours the scene had fogged out completely. The peak is one of the highlights of the Los Glaciares National Park, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.
