Description
The volcanic deserts of the Puna de Atacama in the high Andes of northern Chile and Argentina contain some amazing colorful landscapes for such a barren, inhospitable region. This colors of the 5482m / 17,985ft Cerro Tuyajto volcano in Chile near the Argentine border were particularly vibrant, almost psychedelic, in the right light. Sulphur is mined in several places on the flanks of the volcano.
