Description
Dawn breaks over a surreal landscape of eroded rock formations in ancient lava flows in North Lipez Province in south west Bolivia. Wind erosion (aeolian or eolian processes blowing sand and gravel across the desert) has sculpted the lava outcrops into dozens / hundreds of bizarre shapes and forms, one left centre of this shot resembles the Virgin Mary / Madonna and Child as well as the more obvious face in the foreground. In the right distance is the Salar de Canchas Blancas salt flat
