Description
An elderly indigenous lady lights a candle as she prays in a church in Puno, Peru during the festival for the Virgen de la Candelaria. Many churches in South America have special side chapels called capillas de la velas ("candle chapels") for people to place candles as offerings, in part to stop the central area and main altar of the church getting covered in wax.
