Description
Mt Illimani (6439m / 21,125ft) is one of the most distinctive peaks in the Andes and the symbol of La Paz; the peak dominates views from Bolivia's capital city. It is Bolivia's 2nd highest mountain and the southernmost peak in the Cordillera Real ("Royal Range") of the Bolivian Andes. In the winter months the full moon rises very close to or over the peak when seen from La Paz, an impressive sight!
