Description
The monument to Union Army leader Major General George Gordon Meade and his horse Old Baldy at Cemetery Ridge on the Gettysburg Battlefield site. Cemetery Ridge was part of the Union Army's main defensive line on days 2 and 3 of the battle. This image was taken close to the so called High Water Mark, the name given to the most advanced point reached by the Confederate Army. This happened during an infantry attack known as Pickett's Charge on day 3 of the battle.
