Description
The gorgeous Green-banded Urania moth (Urania leilus, it is actually a diurnal moth though looks more like a swallowtail butterfly) is quite common on riverbanks in primary and secondary rainforests in Amazon and neighboring subtropical regions of South America. They can often be found in large numbers in favored locations, a spectacular sight!
