Description
A twilight view of part of the Guggenheim Museum building and the Iberdrola Tower in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. Arguably one of the most famous examples of modern architecture, the museum was designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry and inaugurated on 18 October 1997. It was built as part of a Bilbao city regeneration project and very quickly became a major tourist attraction.
The Iberdrola Tower is the headquarters of Iberdrola, a Spanish multinational electricity and global energy company. Construction started in March 2009 and it was officially inaugurated by King Juan Carlos I on 21 February 2012. The Tower has 40 floors and is 165m / 541ft tall, making it the tallest building in Bilbao (and the Basque Country), and the eighth tallest in Spain.
