Description
A black and white image of two of the polished black granite panels on the south inscription wall of the United States Air Force Memorial at Arlington, Virginia, not far from Washington DC. The main quotation is by General Jimmy Doolittle, leader of the Doolittle or Tokyo Raid on 18th April 1942, the first air attacks by the US Air Force against the Japanese mainland in World War II. There are also others by well known Air Force Generals and Chiefs of Staff. The 3 central panels of the wall refer to the Air Force's three core values: "integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do". I also have other images of the panels available as prints and on products in this gallery if you are interested.
