Description
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (5,596 m / 18,360 ft) is also known as Mt Shanzidou (the name of its highest peak), Mt Satseto (its name in the local Naxi language) and Yulong Xueshan (its Chinese name). It dominates views from the historic city of Lijiang in Yunnan Province in SW China and has been climbed only once, in 1987 by an American team. This region is part of the Hengduan mountain system, which covers southeastern Tibet and extends into Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces in southwestern China.
