Description
A group of llamas (Lama glama) enjoy spectacular views of Mt Condoriri (5648m / 18,530ft) as they graze on a nearby hillside. They are, along with alpacas, one of South America's domestic camelids and closely related to camels. They are common throughout the Andes and bred for their meat and wool; in the past they were an important means of transport in rural areas. Condoriri is one of the most beautiful peaks in the Cordillera Real range of the Bolivian Andes and gets its name because it is said to resemble a condor with wings outstretched (the main peak is the head).
