Description
Llamas are common across the Andes and often graze in large herds near main roads. A fully grown llama can stand almost 2m / 6ft high and weigh 150-200kg / 300-450lb, enough to do serious damage to a vehicle! This image was taken in Bolivia, the peaks in the background are the Payachatas ("twin" in the Aymara language) volcanos - Parinacota (L, 6342m / 20,805ft) and Pomerape (R, 6282 m / 20,610ft), which lie on the Chilean border.
