Description
Laguna Salcantay is a glacial lake high on the southwest flank of Mt Salcantay, the highest peak that can be seen from Peru's famous Inca Trail. An alternative Long Inca Trail route from Mollepata climbs this side of the peak and crosses the 5000m / 16,400ft Chiriasca Pass shortly above where this image was taken from before descending the Kusichaca River valley to join the classic Inca Trail route.
