Description
Salt cones on the edge of the Salar de Uyuni in southwest Bolivia catch the last light of the day at sunset. The Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat, covering 10,582 square km / 4,086 square miles at an altitude of 3656m / 12,000ft. These salt cones are near Colchani village on the shore of the Salar and have been made by the villagers. They are left there for several days or more in the strong sun so the salt dries out; later they will be collected in trucks and taken to the village to be processed and finally sold as cooking salt throughout Bolivia.

Rachel Morrison
The light so beautifully glows on the white of the salt. Perfect with the reflections!
James Brunker replied:
Thank you Rachel, some of the lighting effects here can surreal, the salt reflects the light like snow
