Description
The Payachatas ("twin" in the Aymara language) volcanos dominate the vast high altitude plains of the spectacular Lauca National Park in the far north of Chile. The Park is also part of the Lauca Biosphere Reserve, recognised by UNESCO in 1981. The peaks lie on the Bolivia border and are individually Pomerape (L, 6282 m / 20,610ft) and Parinacota (R, 6342m / 20,805ft).

Doesn't get better than this ~ magnificent picture Jim! Greetings, Juergen
James Brunker replied:
Thank you Juergen! Yes, the high altitude volcanic scenery along the Bolivia / Chile border is mindblowing, some of the best I've seen in Sth America. I've actually just returned from another trip there, more images to come soon....!
