Description
Loy's Station Covered Bridge near Thurmont is one of 3 covered bridges in Frederick County, Maryland (where only 8 remain today). The original bridge on the site crossing Owens Creek was built in 1880, an arsonist's fire in 1991 meant it had to be rebuilt. It is 90 feet long and 12.2 feet high and the structure is made up of multiple king post trusses.
