Description
Loy's Station Covered Bridge near Thurmont is one of 3 covered bridges in Frederick County, Maryland (where only 8 remain today). The original bridge on the site crossing Owens Creek was built in 1880; an arsonist's fire in 1991 meant it had to be rebuilt. It is 90 feet long and 12.2 feet high and the structure is made up of multiple king post trusses.
