Description
No, not a vintage Jaws prototype that has escaped from the Baltimore Aquarium stalking an unsuspecting tourist but the USS Torsk! USS Torsk (SS-423) is a Tench Class submarine built in 1944 that saw action in the Pacific during World War II and was also deployed in the Caribbean during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On 14 August 1945 she torpedoed a Japanese freighter, the last enemy ship sunk by the U.S. Navy in World War II. She is now one of several historic ships docked in the Inner Harbour that are part of the Historic Ships of Baltimore Museum.
