Description
The buildings of the once important tin mining centre of Milluni (near La Paz in Bolivia) almost disappear into the dramatic Andean mountain landscape after a winter snowfall. The mine (once one of the largest near La Paz) was abandoned in the 1990s after world tin prices crashed dramatically during the 1980s. With a rise in mineral prices in recent years it has been reopened by a local mining cooperative.
