Description
The glaciers of Mt Huayna Potosi (6088m / 19,975ft) glow in the early morning sun. The peak is one of the most popular climbs in Bolivia and by mountaineering standards a relatively non technical 6000m peak. The right hand or north peak is the highest and most often climbed, the south peak is usually climbed via the steeper and more challenging French Route / Ruta Frances directly up the ice face. It is part of the Cordillera Real range and easily reached from the capital La Paz.
