Artist's Description

A close up photo of a group of moth orchid flowers, one of the Phalaenopsis genus in the family Orchidaceae. The genus has about 70 species in the wild which are native to India, China, Southeast Asia and Australia; Indonesia and the Philippines have the largest number of species. They are also a very popular houseplant as they are easy to grow and many hydrid species have been produced for the horticulture industry (some hydrids also occur naturally)
