The mountain caracara (Phalcoboenus megalopterus) is a striking bird of prey of the central Andes. It is a bird of the high altitude puna grasslands and steppes of Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile, usually seen above 3000m / 10,000ft. This is the adult, juveniles are brown all over.
