Description
The Peruvian booby (Sula variegata) is a common seabird off the Pacific coasts of Chile and Peru, which are washed by the cold Humboldt Current. Non breeding birds can wander north to Colombia, especially in El Nino years. It feeds in the same way as gannets, plunging dramatically into the sea from a considerable height to catch fish.

Fabulous closeup of a bird we haven't seen here before. Great! I'm proud to exhibit this named bird image among the features for the group, Wild Birds Of The World - A Nature Photography Group. L/F
