Description
Much of the centre of the former Inca capital Cusco is built over the Inca original; the current main square or Plaza de Armas sits over the original and much larger Inca square known as Huacaypata. It is particularly beautiful at night. The Compania de Jesus church was built by Jesuits over the site of the palace of the Inca Huayna Capac (known as Amarucancha: Palace of the Serpents) in the late 17th century.
