Description
A detail of the colorful multi-layered skirts called polleras worn by girls and women on Taquile Island in the Peruvian part of Lake Titicaca. The island's inhabitants speak Quechua and still wear traditional dress on a daily basis and strongly preserve their traditional way of life. Polleras are commonly worn by women across the Andean countries and come in many colors and patterns, which are often distinctive according to the region.
