Description
A sight that is unfortunately not as common in rural England as it used to be due to changes in farming techniques, wild poppies (Papaver rhoeas) growing in a corn field. This is the same species that flowered on battlefields in northern France and Belgium during the First World War and is often worn (in paper form) on Remembrance Day (11th November) in memory of the fallen soldiers.
