Description
A large boulder with some of the 400+ petroglyphs that have been described at Ofragía, not far from Codpa in the Arica and Parinacota Region XV of northern Chile. They are thought to date from the Late Intermediate Period (1000-1400AD) though some may be older. The site was on an important ancient trade route and also seems to have been of ceremonial importance. This image shows various camelid figures (probably llamas or guanacos) and also human figures, note the human leading a small camelid in the centre.
50% of all profits from sales of this image will be donated to the Bolivian Rock Art Research Society SIARB (Sociedad de Investigación del Arte Rupestre de Bolivia). SIARB is a private organisation dedicated to the investigation, recording, protection and conservation of rock paintings and petroglyphs in Bolivia and neighbouring countries.
