Description
A seagull flies over the rocky coastline of the Cies Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Galicia in northwest Spain. There are 3 islands in the archipelago, this is the view looking north from the middle island, Illa de Montefaro, to Monteagudo Island. The islands are noted for their rugged scenery (especially on the western ocean side), beaches and rich maritime wildlife. They were made a Nature Reserve in 1980 and were included in the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park (Parque Nacional Marítimo-Terrestre das Illas Atlánticas de Galicia) when it was created in 2002.
