Description
Part of the ruins of Bayham Abbey on the border of Kent and East Sussex between Tunbridge Wells and Lamberhurst in southeast England. The abbey was founded in the early 13th century by Premonstratensian monks and suppressed by Cardinal Wolsey in 1525 to fund two new colleges he planned to build. This image shows part of what was the main church in the site with its impressive arched windows and buttresses. In its heyday it must have been a magnificent building.
