Description
Early spring sunshine streams through branches in a typical Weald of Kent woodland in southeast England. These flowers are common or English bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta), native to north western Europe. It is an indicator species for ancient woodlands and is a protected species in the UK, the "bluebell woods" are a wonderful springtime feature. The trees with the fresh, pale green leaves are the common or European beech (Fagus sylvatica).
