Description
Stormy skies and dramatic lighting over the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina, probably the most accesible and visited of Patagonia's big glaciers. Huge blocks of ice regularly fall from the snout in front of the viewing balconies into Lake Argentino, an awesome sight (and sound!). The glacier is one of the main highlights of the Los Glaciares National Park, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. In the distance is part of the Southern Patagonian Icefield.
