Description
Dramatic storm clouds above Laguna Santa Rosa in the Nevado de Tres Cruces National Park, Chile at sunset. Laguna Santa Rosa is a saline lake at 3760m / 12,335ft in the Puna de Atacama, a high altitude volcanic desert plateau in the central Andes shared by Chile and Argentina. The lake is also a Ramsar Wetland (water is very scare in the region) and part of the Salar de Maricunga, the southernmost salt flat in Chile. It is home to a population of Andean flamingos, a few of which can be seen in this image if you look closely.
