Description
One of a number of surreal rock formations in the famous Valle de la Luna / Moon Valley near San Pedro de Atacama in northern Chile. The whitish deposits are salt and salt used to be mined in the area, which is part of the Cordillera de Sal range of hills and also the Los Flamencos National Park. I find it easy to imagine this rock as the head of a long dead dinosaur looking up at the skies above while its body slowly merges with the surrounding desert.
