A close up of the south peak of the 5860m / 19,225ft high Nevados de Putre / Taapaca volcano complex near Putre in the far north of Chile at sunset, with the snow glowing in a beautiful golden light. The peaks, which are in the Cordillera Occidental range of the Andes Mountains, are a compound stratovolcano whose last eruption is thought to have been around 300BC.
