Description
A shot of the altiplano grasslands and Mt Huayna Potosi (6088m / 19,975ft) in Bolivia's Cordillera Real range lit by the light of a nearly full moon soon after sunset and moonrise. The 7 stars known as The Big Dipper or The Plough (part of the Great Bear or Ursa Major constellation) can be seen to the left of the peak. The Big Dipper is a prominent feature of skies of the northern hemisphere; it can also be seen south of the equator (where it appears "upside down") at certain times of the year close to the northern horizon. The peak is one of the most popular climbs in Bolivia and by mountaineering standards a relatively non technical 6000m peak.
