Description
A night view of the historic centre of Vigo looking towards the cathedral (or Concatedral de Santa María de Vigo to give it its full name). Vigo lies near the Portuguese border in the southern part of Galicia known as Rias Baixas (Lower Rias) in north west Spain. Much of its historic centre or Casco Vello is built of granite and is noted for its quaint narrow streets and squares. The cathedral was built from 1811 -1836 in a mixture of neoclassical and baroque styles.
