Description
The white chalk cliffs where the South Downs meet the sea along the East Sussex coast make for some of Britain's most impressive coastal scenery. Beachy Head lighthouse in the distance entered service in 1902 and was manually operated until 1983. This shot was taken from the section of the South Downs Way coastal footpath between Beachy Head and Birling Gap.
