Description
Wild poppies (Papaver rhoeas) growing in a corn field, a classic view in rural England that is not as common as it used to be due to changes in farming techniques. This is the same species that flowered on battlefields in northern France and Belgium during the First World War and is often worn (in paper form) on Remembrance Day (11th November) in memory of the fallen soldiers.
