Description
Wintry sunshine lights up the terraced houses in the village of Wyndham in the upper Ogmore Valley in South Wales, UK. The village owes its existance to coal, as do the majority in the valleys of the South Wales coal belt. From the mid 19th century up until the 1980s the South Welsh valleys were one of the most important industrial areas of the UK and coal mining the main employer. The Wyndham colliery shut in 1983, the last to do so in the Ogmore Valley.
